UPDAO Proposal Template Etiquette

We’re excited to announce the first look at our new UPDAO Proposal Template!

After carefully dissecting the industry’s leading DAO structures, we have moved forward with the following format. These fields will be implemented within the PRISM app for submission of any new proposals. We strongly encourage using this template as a guideline when drafting a new proposal and will “require” an answer for each field (if the field does not apply, you may use “N/A”). Once finalized, you will be able to see the new template within the UPDAO Documentation as well!

ACTION ITEM: Please review the template and use the “UPDAO” Discord channel to submit anything that you would add, remove, or modify. Once we have reached consensus, we will be sending the finalized Proposal Template to the Pixel Vault development team to implement within PRISM. Implementation may not be immediate dependent on bandwidth but will be announced once updated.

Deadline to submit your edits is Friday, November 11th, 2022.

Proposal Template Format:

• Proposal Title — What is the name of your proposal?
• Implementor — Who will be making this proposal come to life? (ie. UPDAO Council, Inhabitants Universe, Pixel Vault, UPDAO Community, Development Team, Legal Team, etc.)
• Category Dropdown: Financial, Structural, Partnerships, Gaming, Informational and Ideation, or Other — What department of the UPDAO will this fall under?
• Proposal Committee — Who is submitting this proposal?
• Sponsor(s) — Who is vouching for this proposal? Who will be financing this?
• Date of Submission — When are you submitting this proposal?
• Abstract (Pitch): Approx. 3 sentences — A short description of the proposal not to exceed 3 sentences
• Motivation (Goal): detailed description of the proposed idea — A more in-depth description of the proposed project with a final goal of what you hope to achieve
• Rationale: (Why): How does it align with the UPDAO’s mission and values? — What will this proposal add to the UPDAO and its citizens?
• Steps to Implement: How would you go about making this come to life — Details as to how you might envision completing this this project, ideally step by step
• Timeline: Start date, milestones, completion date — When would we be starting this project? What are the milestones and dates of these completed milestones? When will this project be completed?
• Pros/Cons — How does this project benefit the UPDAO? What are the drawbacks of moving forward with this proposal?
• Specification: Technical and financial details/requirements if applicable, overall cost — What development resources are needed? What do we need monetarily? What is the overall cost?
• Links to any attachments — Link to Google Drive, websites, docs, etc.

Resubmissions:

• Link to previous submission — A link to the prior proposal within the PRISM app
• Reason why it was not approved — List any feedback as to why this proposal did not go through as well as why you think it did not pass
• Changes made — List any updates made from the previous submission
