The Light Advocate Program

Light is very grateful for our incredibly supportive user base over the years, we truly wouldn’t be where we are without you, especially considering our crowdfunding roots. We also realize many of you have already helped convert others to the benefits of going light simply by leading as an example. We want to take this opportunity to make that appreciation more tangible with our new Light Advocate program.

As a Light Advocate you will be given a unique URL that you can share with anyone who may be considering going light. If someone makes a purchase on our website using your unique URL, we’ll pay you a 10% commission on those sales, pre-tax.

Light is really proud to have grown in a grass roots way this far!

We’d so much rather pay back our loyal users than spend our limited resources feeding the very advertising channels we criticize as one of the fundamental issues with the current technology landscape.

We’ve often heard of the thoughtful, organic conversations that come up when strangers and friends alike see someone using a Light Phone II. You’ve maybe pulled out your Light Phone somewhere and heard someone say something like,

Every Light Phone user is proof that it’s possible to reimagine one’s relationship to technology. That one doesn’t NEED to have a smartphone. That going light can be a really positive lifestyle shift.

How do I sign up to become a Light Advocate?
Log into the dashboard website, go to Account and then click the new Referrals section.

How does it work?
By signing up to our affiliate program, via our partner Tapfiliate, you will be given a unique URL that links to the Light Phone website. You can share that link with friends and family or promote it elsewhere. Every time a purchase is made from someone that uses your link, we will pay you a 10% commission on that sale, pre-tax. A Paypal account is required to participate in this program.

How much is the commission?
Advocates will receive 10% commission on pre-tax sales.

What are the payment terms?
Affiliate payments will be made monthly on the 15th of the month for the previous month. Payments will be made for completed and shipped orders, but will not include canceled or unopened returned sales.

How will I get paid?
Payments can only be made via Paypal.

What about taxes?
You will be ultimately responsible for determining the applicability of certain tax laws depending on the location of your operations, the scope of your activity, and other applicable criteria. Additionally, Paypal will report earnings that meet their criteria for taxable income thresholds.
