the clouds and the leaves
This was how it started:
An awareness of pale fog, a half-glimpsed dream,
And then a gradual clarity, building and building, over years,
until suddenly, an illumination.
I was blind and now I see.
I was an animal and now I am a man.
I have eaten of the fruit of the tree of knowledge, and where is the way home?
