Open air Q&A.

Islamabad. Pakistan

This was a unique ‘campus da’wah experience’. Kudos to the new society, the Islamic society of FAST-NU who pulled this off.

The idea is thus:

Outdoor area next to a busy place so in this case the canteen. A desk, a loudspeaker and microphone. The opportunity for students at FAST-NU university to ‘grill a molvi’ later changed to “ask your questions”

Br Subboor Ahmed held this last year and now it was my turn.

Students came forward and asked their questions. The questions were about problem of evil, Islamic law and other theological issues. I answered to the best of my ability and to their credit the questioners all listened. This is something I see in the Muslim world. The Khair, that they genuinely want to listen rather than wanting an argument.

Towards the end I gave sincere naseehah to all students to actually make a huge effort to study the basic beliefs of Islam. This is critical rather than chasing down answers to each so called controversial laws.

This was a first time for me. A constant Q/A for an hour and I am truly grateful to my mentors and trainers and my Rabb for allowing me to be the mouthpiece and ambassador for Islam.
