NTT Disruption: 2 years creating today what really matters for tomorrow

Two years ago, we believed tech could either be for good or not at all. We chose for good.

Today we celebrate our II Anniversary. Two years of unceasing work, achievements, and overcoming extreme unforeseen challenges like Covid-19.

Our vision started at everis -today an NTT Data Company-, when a group of purpose led minds captained by Marc Alba -SVP, NTT. President & CEO of NTT Disruption- decided to pursue one of the most challenging dreams: to carry out a real humanistic, cultural, scientific, and scalable tech revolution, that would positively impact millions of people, everywhere. A shared concern with NTT Group, our founders since 2019.

We feel proud of these two years of life. How we’ve brought together the best purpose-led scientists, engineers, humanists and creative talent in the midst of an unprecedented global lockdown. How we’ve co-created, co-validated and co-accelerated disruptive solutions with our clients and partners in the areas of healthcare, acceleration technology, social robotics, digital marketing, and immersive experiences. How together we have helped our industries, professionals and societies emerge safely.

We toast for the next upcoming years, to continue improving our world with disruptive tech solutions that we hope will contribute to change the world, for good.

24 months have resulted in different scalable tech solutions for healthcare and wellbeing, the future of open-disruption workspaces, and marketing:

jibo. Helping elderly people and children in hospitals

Since we acquired jibo’s patents, trademark, digital assets, and inventory, we have taken his lead in accelerating his journey, shifting to a B2B2Human approach.

Over our last two years, we have co-designed him with older people and children in mind, thanks to the collaboration with some clients and partners like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The outcomes have been impressive: from helping older adults to improve their cognitive function and being a useful tool in telenursing/ telemedicine, to mitigating children’s anxieties before surgery or when facing long-term hospital stays.

Along with different hospitals and medical institutions, we have explored how jibo is a revolutionary step for the future of patient care and telehealth. He is a more human-enabled, emotional, and empathetic technology for healthcare, providing a better opportunity to assess patients’ engagement state, or improve children’s and elderly peoples social, sensory and cognitive abilities.

Growthland. Disrupt marketing for sustainable growth

In today’s complex and more digitalized environment, we identified marketing needed technology to scale. Throughout these exciting two years, we have helped clients, business and partners improve their marketing and production services.

With our clients, we have combined the power of AI and ML applied to content with our SSC Smart Scalable Content system, that learns from the organization’s input & performance data with AI to recommend the best music, image, and tone for the creation of unique digital content. With SSC’s we have made the best out of technology and creativity, to improve our clients’ time efficiency, reducing their costs, and improving their content engagement.

Another thrilling milestone has been Growthland’s 4DBX 4th Brand Dimension Experiences. We launched our first proof of concept with Chats for good, that leveraged on the latest exponential technologies like VFX, CGI, animation, and motion capture in real-time. Continued to Upgrade 2020 with NTT Research, and joined efforts with Arkadin to strengthen the offering of virtual events worldwide.

We celebrate two years of more than 30 in-house marketing projects carried out with our group partners: ‘Wake up’, ‘The Awakening of Industries’, ‘New Tomorrow Togerher’ 4DBX virtual Films with NTT Data, ‘Persuasion Machines’ in partnership with THE OTHRS, NTT Major League Baseball Sponsorship commercial, NTT IndyCar Sponsorship, ‘Symphony’ Manifesto with everis, or the latest global integration campaign with NTT DATA, amongst many others.

VPO. How Virtual Patient Observation can boost the healthcare industry

Two years ago, we imagined a world where waiting was no longer a factor.

Today we are applying acceleration capabilities to enable real-time and adaptable applications to improve people’s lives whilst promoting a smarter, adaptable and intelligent future for healthcare.

We are thrilled to celebrate we have been working with our group’s company everis Brazil. Despite the current challenges fostered by Covid-19, we have started to test our Virtual Patient Observation (VPO) solution in the Intensive Care Units of the Heart Institute (InCor) from the Clinical Hospitals, University of São Paulo Medical School, one of the world’s most recognized centers of academic and clinical excellence in cardio pneumology.

We have jointly facilitated a secure and remote healthcare, enabling healthcare professionals attend a greater number of patients, prioritizing them based on the severity of their condition.

“The development of this technology, through machine learning will provide more safety and well-being for the patient and will reduce stress for the team. The system can also signal potential signs and problems so the medical staff can assist the patient before the issue becomes critical or the patients hurt themselves. This is a fantastic technology, especially in high complexity ICUs such as InCor.”

Cokoon. Immersive experience maker for business

The work experience is changing, and Covid-19 has accelerated this change even more. From NTT Disruption we wanted to be part of this workplace transformation offering more immersive and multifunctional environments. In addition, we wanted to apply our tech solution to help balance the new virtual and physical presence dilemma, and enhance user experience, while improving people’s wellbeing.

We truly believed immersive and sensory technologies could help us build more sustainable, secure, and optimized buildings, improving energy performance and carbon footprints, or even anticipating deadlines and replacements.

When we started building DreamLab -our open space for co-creation and open-disruption workspace in Madrid- we knew Cokoon was meant to be our heart-core technology.

Cokoon is our immersive experience maker. A 360º multi-sense installation to help enable immersive and memorable experiences, that can improve peoples’ wellbeing and clients’ experiences.

Today we are immersed in the next-gen digital experience maker in the heart of San Francisco. A connected space to tech, design and the art ecosystem, and an open space for co-design and co-creation we are extremely excited about.

We want to celebrate these two years, working to democratize the world of immersive experiences through multi-sense and cognitive technologies worldwide.

Some say it’s not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years.

In our II Anniversary we feel honored of working with such a fantastic group of disruptors. Our biggest motivation? Being part of a big family called NTT, that believes in a better world. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for these two amazing years, which motivate us to continue disrupting, for good.
