I confused Pieter Levels with my AI test where I replaced my wife in my pic

I think I overdid my AI experiment. So much so that even levels.io retweeted it.

In a nutshell from this photo

I got this

without photoshop. And in seconds
And that got out of hand

I’ll explain what happened and how I did it!

I replaced my wife with AI

My wife and I went to an exhibition in Milan.

We sat down at a restaurant, and while we waited for lunch to be brought, we took a picture.

We are usually never happy with the result on the first try.Let’s say that on the fifth attempt we liked it. This:

I’ve been wanting to change my Twitter profile picture for a few days, but I’m too lazy:
I didn’t feel like making another 10 attempts to get another picture of myself.

So I thought I’d reuse ours one that I just took!

Only problem is the off-center result, with one ear and shoulders cut off
But I had an idea.

As soon as I got home, I uploaded our photo to dall-e and with simple editing I got this:

AI has:

  • replaced my wife
  • added space behind me
  • spawned me an ear and a shoulder
  • he lifted my right arm sleeve 🤣

The steps I followed

To replace my wife (😅) I selected the editing function,

I deleted the shape to hide, and typed this prompt:

replace the erased part.

To my amazement the AI reconstructed all the missing parts of the lady standing behind my wife! Look at here:

Dall-e has created an improbable jacket for her, but at first glance it’s believable!

Create depth

To create depth in the image, and center my face,
I selected the “Add generation frame” function, and placed the frame to my right. So I typed this prompt:

show the boy in the foreground in another place

And I got this:

Finally I gave this other command:

remove the people behind the boy in the foreground

I tested other funny variations with the “Generate Variations” function.
And strange things appeared 🤣

I just fell in love with AI.
