Can A Baby Bring A Couple Closer?

Often, I see situations where one partner wants to have a baby (or to have a second or third child) but the other partner says, “We can’t do that until we work on our marriage.” This is a version of when men won’t propose until the woman stops being upset that he isn’t proposing, and may be just as circular and illogical, since in the mind of the partner who wants the child, most of the fighting is due to the lack of a child.
