Sorry it is so hard, and thank you for sharing your perspective.

This might not be terribly helpful but are there jobs in patient advocacy you could apply for? I've thought about that for myself, but I'm merely a patient and don't have any training in healthcare.

I have two sayings:

ADABe: All Doctors Are Bastards, eventually.

AHABe: All Hospitals Are Bastards, eventually.

This is borne out of experience with a series of kerfuffles from multiple hospitals, Johns Hopkins in particular. Johns Hopkins quite literally saved my life. I had cancer and they gave me the chemo that put me in remission. However, the long term care leaves much to be desired. I've had multiple billing issues. The two sleep specialists that were on my case essentially swindled me. Etc...

Most of it is in this publication:

https://medium.com/patient-stories

Maybe we need a new publication called "Healthcare Worker Stories."

That's irony I think. My life is full of irony too, actually. Like Johns Hopkins who saved my life when I had cancer is now slowly killing me by messing up sending scripts where they should go and billing. Aie!
